The problem I see with any bonuses affecting propulsion is that the faster races are going to benefit more. Without changes to the slower AF's mass and agility its just going to mean they can't ***** that magical barrier where they're largely unaf...

They don't bother me that much, keeps people on their toes and they provide a relatively significant isk sink and this game needs more of those. I do agree the cost of war-decs should go up though.

Aye, complete disruption of the gameplay wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. The invasion could be spread over a few months, a few random sightings early on. No combat at first, just a few unidentified ships appearing on the scanners then moving...
